Adding Fluid
CAUTION: DO NOT ADD FLUID TO THE RESERVOIR WHEN THE RECIRCULATING FLUID IS
AT LOW TEMPERATURES. WHEN WARMING UP TO ROOM TEMPERATURE THE FLUID WILL
EXPAND AND MAY OVERFLOW THE RESERVOIR. THIS CAN BE AVOIDED BY ONLY ADDING
FLUID WHEN THE RECIRCULATING FLUID ALREADY IN THE CHILLER IS AT A SETPOINT OF
+20°C (ROOM TEMPERATURE).
Remove reservoir cap. 1.
At room temperature, fill with the fluid until the LED on the front panel displays 2.

Replace reservoir Cap. 3.
Note: If working alone, it may be useful to enable the audible ‘full’ signal. This alarm
will sound for five seconds when the reservoir reaches full, and allows the reservoir to
be filled without having to constantly check the level.
To set the ‘Full’ Signal:
Press PROG button. 1.
Press the UP or DOWN arrow until the “EtC” menu is displayed. 2.
Press ENTER until rEFL is displayed. 3.
Press the UP arrow until 2 is displayed. 4.
Press ENTER, then ESC. 5.
An audible signal will sound when the fluid level reaches the full level. This function
resets itself and must be reset for each use.
Draining Fluid
ATTENTION: SWITCH OFF BREAKER BEFORE DRAINING THE CHILLER. OPERATING THE
CHILLER WITHOUT FLUID COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLUID PUMP AND POTENTIAL
HAZARDS.
ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR WHEN DRAINING FLUID FROM THE CHILLER.
CAUTION: NEVER DRAIN FLUID FROM THE CHILLER WHEN IT IS AT AN EXTREME
TEMPERATURE, AS IT COULD CAUSE INJURY UPON ACCIDENTAL CONTACT.
Ultra-Cool chillers come equipped with two drain lines. Under normal operation the
plug should be in place with the hose clamp tightened around the tubing and plug. In
order to drain the fluid from the chiller’s internal heat exchanger, loosen the hose
clamp and remove the plug. Be sure to have a method ready to catch/drain off the
fluid as specified by the fluid manufacturer. Replace the drain plug and tighten the
hose clamp before attempting to refill the system with fluid.
