PROG/ESC/ALMCLR (White)
This switch serves three purposes.
ALARMCLEAR
If ANY exception condition occurs, the primary function of this switch is to clear the
exception. This applies not only to alarms, but also to [system] errors, the PF (power
failed) display, and so forth. If the cause of the alarm is not corrected, however, the
alarm will recur within one second.
PROGRAM
If the system is not programming, and no exception condition exists, activation of this
button will engage "menu selection". The system will automatically begin with the last
[previous] menu. The menus may then be scrolled using the UP/DOWN and the
desired selection is made via the ENTER button.
ESC (Abort Programming)
If the user has already entered menu or program mode, it may be immediately
aborted via the ESC (Escape) button. The value presently prompted on the display
will NOT be changed. This button may readily be used when altering a single
parameter to quit the programming sequence (on the prompt following the one
desired) without having to index through the rest of the menu. If the Reservoir Level
is being displayed, the ESC button will return the display to Process Temperature.
Certain alarm conditions within the system, most notably the high- and
low- temperature alarms, may cause a constant alarm condition which interferes with
programming the system. For instance, if the HA (high alarm) parameter is set to
15°C and the process temperature is ambient (25 °C) the unit will persist in a high
alarm. Should the user desire to change the programmed value: if the unit is running,
it must be first shut off (STOP). The alarm will continue. Thereafter, if the PROG
button is used to ALMCLR, the system monitor routine is suspended for one second
to allow the user to enter program mode (by a second activation of the PROG button).
If the unit is not running and is programming, the ALMCLR function is suspended, and
the unit will program properly, allowing the user to alter the interfering value (HA, in
the example above). Once the programming mode is exited, the alarm may be
cleared via ALMCLR, and will not recur provided that the problem has been corrected
by altering the value.
Indicators
The Ultra-Cool Chiller has four primary methods of reporting status information to the
user: three high-visibility incandescent lamps; an audible alarm signal; a number of
status LED’s; and a 4 digit, 7 segment display.
Incandescent Lamps
Incandescent lamps are used to enable viewing from a distance. All lamps are front
replaceable (T1 3/4 wedge base) by prying the lens cap from the indicator and pulling
the small silver colored ejector pin within.
MAINS
This lamp is connected directly to the 24 VAC EMO control circuit and will be lit as
long as the unit is connected to mains power (line voltage) and such power is applied
to the system. Should the bulb fail, it should be replaced with a 28V bulb available
from most electronic distributors.
