Programming Tips
Entering a ramp rate of “0” for a freezing or drying step will cause the freeze-
•
dryer to cool or heat to the next temperature at the fastest rate of which the
system is capable.
In order for the freeze dryer to recognize and execute a step, it must be
•
enabled. The numbered columns headed in green are enabled, yellow is
disabled. To enable the next step, click on the yellow square. It will change
color to green and execute in sequence.
Note: Any step that is enabled will be executed, regardless of the values. If a step is
enabled by accident, then the machine will ramp to 0°C and hold for zero minutes.
Also, program in some amount of time in the Extra Freeze Time field. This is
•
the part of the program to which the system will return if any overload or
power outage conditions occur during drying. It is necessary to have some
time in this step in order to allow the system time to recover in the event of
condenser or vacuum overload or an extended power outage.
Ensure that the vacuum overload setting is greater than the Primary Vacuum
•
Start Setpoint or the system will never step into the drying part of the
program.
To Create a New Recipe:
Click on the New recipe button. To enter the parameters for your run, you will 1.
need to enable the steps. Steps in freezing and drying are enabled by clicking
on the yellow box which displays the number for each step. The yellow
background will change to green and data entry will be enabled.
