Testing the System
Perform the following tests before a conference.
• Check the level of each channel signal input to the
transmitter.
• Check the signal input to the infrared radiators.
Indicators for adjusting the input level and checking the input signal
Adjusting the input level
Adjust the output level of audio source equipment
such as a control console, tape recorders and so on, so
as to obtain the optimum input level for the
transmitter, as indicated by the following indicators.
NORMAL indicator (green): Lights when the
transmitter receives a signal of the optimum level.
OVER indicator (red): Lights when the transmitter
receives a signal whose level is too high.
When neither the NORMAL indicator or OVER
indicator lights
The output level of the audio source signal is too low.
Increase the output level of the audio source
equipment until the NORMAL indicator lights for
each channel.
When the OVER indicator lights
The output level of the audio source signal is too
high. Reduce the output level of the audio source
equipment until the OVER indicator goes out and the
NORMAL indicator lights.
Checking the signal input to the radiators
Check the signal, using the radiator’s CHECK
indicator.
CHECK indicator: Lights when no PPM signal is
input.
When you set the POWER switch of the radiator
to ON
If the CHECK indicator remains off: The signal is
being input normally.
If the CHECK indicator lights: The signal is not
being input normally because of one of the
following reasons.
• The coaxial cable from the transmitter is not
connected to the LINE IN connector of the radiator.
Connect the cables.
• The POWER switch of the transmitter is not set to
ON.
Set the POWER switch to ON.
