Remedy

• Connect the mains lead secur ely.

• Moisture condensation has occur red. Turn the power

off, unplug the mains lead and leave the VCR to dr

for over one hour .

• The clock stops if the VCR is disconnected fr om the

mains for mor e than one hour . Reset the clock (and
timer).

• Make sur e the TV is set to the video channel. If you

are using a monitor , set it to video input.

• If the VCR is connected to the TV only with the aerial

cable, make sur e that the RF MODULATOR option in
the SET UP MENU is set to ON.

• Adjust the tracking with the

TRACKING buttons.

(VHS deck only)

• The video heads ar e dirty (see below). Clean the video

heads using the Sony video head cleaning cassette. If
this cleaning cassette is not available in your ar

ea, have

the heads cleaned at your near est Sony ser vice facility
(a standar d ser vice char ge will be r equired). Do not
use a commer cially available wet-type cleaning
cassette, as it may damage the video heads.

• The video heads may have to be r eplaced. Consult

your local Sony ser vice facility for mor e infor mation.

• Adjust the ver tical hold contr ol on the TV or monitor .
