You can record just the portions you like from a
disc (DVD, VIDEO CD, DATA CD and DATA
DVD), tape or radio program on a tape.
You can also record from connected
components (see “Hooking up optional
components” on page 69).
Use buttons on the unit for the operation.

component connected to VIDEO INPUT

component connected to TV/SAT IN L/R
jacks.

Notes
• You cannot listen to other sources while recording.
• When you press REC PAUSE/START in step 5, the
surround effect may automatically change (see
“Selecting the surround effect” on page 55).
• Do not eject the tape during recording, as this may
cause irreparable damage to the tape and the tape
deck.
• The sound cuts off for a moment during recording
when:
– you connect or disconnect the microphones
– you turn on or off the karaoke mode
Tips
• When you record on both sides, be sure to start from
the front side. If you start from the reverse side,
recording stops at the end of the reverse side.
• For recording from the tuner:
If noise is heard while recording from the tuner,
move the respective antenna to reduce the noise.
• If “TAPE B” is selected in step 4, silence is recorded.
• You can “mix” sounds by playing one of the audio
sources in step 4 and singing or speaking into a
microphone. The mixed sound can be recorded on a
tape.
