Overvoltage category
The inverter can be used in grids of overvoltage category III or lower in
accordance with IEC 60664-1. This means that it can be permanently
connected at the grid-connection point in a building. In installations involving
long outdoor cable routing, additional measures to reduce overvoltage
category IV to overvoltage category III are required.
AC circuit breaker
In PV systems with multiple inverters, protect each inverter with a separate
circuit breaker. This will prevent residual voltage being present at the
corresponding cable after disconnection.
No consumer load should be applied between AC circuit breaker and the
inverter.
The selection of the AC circuit breaker rating depends on the wiring design
(wire cross-section area), cable type, wiring method, ambient temperature,
inverter current rating, etc. Derating of the AC circuit breaker rating may be
necessary due to self-heating or if exposed to heat.
The maximum output current and the maximum output overcurrent protection
of the inverters can be found in section 10 "Technical data".
If an external residual-current protection device is required, please install
a type B residual-current protection device with a protection limit of not
less than 100mA.
