INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Hearth Requirements
The heater and face must not contact any combustible surfaces. A minimum 1” clearance to a combustible
floor is required. A non-combustible hearth extension is not required. However, if the heater is installed
close to the floor, we recommend a hearth to protect the flooring surface from discoloration or other negative
impact from the heater.
The gas fireplace insert is shipped with a 3/8” stainless steel flex connector. The gas supply piping should
have a separate gas shutoff valve and a 1/8” NPT plugged tapping upstream of the valve. The stove and its
main control valve must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system during any pressure testing of
that system at test pressures in excess of 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa). The fireplace insert must be isolated from the gas
supply piping system by closing the main control valve during any pressure testing of the gas supply system
at test pressures equal to or less than 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa). After the gas supply has been connected, use a com-
mercial gas leak detector or apply a soapy water solution to all the fittings to check for gas leaks. Never use
a flame to test for leaks.
