A.2 MC2000/MC2000-IQ Frame Rate Conversion
Example
You have received content at 1080 50i and need to convert it to both 1080 59i and 525 59i for
transmission.
Steps
1.
On the rear panel, connect the SDI source (1080 50i) to SDI In 1.
2.
On the front panel, press the CH SELECT button until the Channel 1 LED is
illuminated.
3.
Press the INPUT Shortcut button.
4.
Choose Input Select > SDI 1, then select Done.
5.
Press the CH SELECT button until the Channel 2 LED is illuminated.
6.
Choose Input Select > SDI 1, then select Done.
7.
Press the HOME button.
8.
Verify that both status displays “1080 50i”. If either or both status displays show
"input loss", review steps 1 to 6 to ensure you have correctly connected and routed
the source.
9.
Press CH SELECT button until the Channel 1 LED is illuminated.
10. Press the OUTPUT Shortcut button.
11. Select Output Standard > 1080 59i, then select Done.
12. Press the CH SELECT button until the Channel 2 LED is illuminated.
13. Select Output Standard > 525 59i, then select Done.
14. Connect your HD monitor or recording device to Output A1 and your SD monitor or
recording device to Output B1.
To ensure that motion compensation is being applied on both channels:
1.
Press the CH SELECT button until the Channel 1 LED is illuminated.
2.
Press the CONVERT Shortcut button.
3.
Select Motion Processing > Motion Process, then select the Motion Process check
box.
4.
Select Done.
Repeat for channel 2.
Note:
In steps 1 to 6 you have routed the input from SDI In 1 to both processing channels.

In steps 9 to 13 you have set up conversion to HD 1080 59i on processing channel 1 and
conversion to SD 525 59i on channel 2.
