Parameter

Description

Priority

Device priority is used in selecting the root device,
root port, and designated port. The device with
the highest priority b ecomes the STA root device.
However, if all devices have the same priority, the
device with the lowest MAC address will then
become the root devic e.

Hello Time

The time interval (in sec onds) at whic h the root
device transmits a c onfiguration message.

Max Age

The maximum time (in seconds) a device can wait
without receivin g a c onfiguration message befo re
attempting to reconfigure.

For ward Delay

The maximum time (in second s) the root device
will wait before changing states (i.e., listening to
learning to for warding).

Hold Time

The min imum interval between the transmission
of consecutive Co nfiguration BPDUs.
