Port Menus

Port Information

The Port Information screen displays the port status, link state, the
communication speed and duplex mode, as well as the flow
control in use. To change any of the port settings, use the Port
Configuration menu. The parameters are shown in the following
figure and table.

Parameter

Description

Admin Status

Shows if the port is enabled or not.

Link Status

Indicates if the port h as a valid connection to an
external device.

Speed Status

Shows the port speed.

Duplex Status

Displays the current duplex mode.

Flow Control Status Shows the flow c ontrol type in use. (IEEE 802.3x is

used fo r full duplex.) Flow control can eliminate
fr ame loss by “blocking” traffic from end stations
connec ted direc tly to the switch.
