2.13 Expansion Cards - Serial Interfaces

2.13.1

WLAN/Wi-Fi Expansion Card

CAUTION

Ensure the WLAN (Wi-Fi) antenna is at
least 20 cm away from humans.

Note:

In order to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co-channel mobile
satellite systems, the operation in the 5150-5250MHz band (channels 36 to 48)
is restricted to indoor usage only. Outdoor usage in these channels is allowed
in the United States.

Note:

The WLAN/Wi-Fi card has its own SSID/WPA2 password sticker which ships
with the card. Ensure you attach the sticker to the underside of the SG-7100
base unit.

The WLAN/Wi-Fi expansion card includes the following features:



802.11a 5.8GHz WLAN plus 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHz WLAN



WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, mixed WPA/WPA2-PSK encryption



SMA male connector



Dual SSID



Failover to WLAN client for WAN connectivity



Simultaneous access point and client mode for providing service or connection as
a wireless LAN



Up to 10 simultaneous users

Each WLAN expansion card has a unique SSID that identifies it to a WLAN client
device. Any client device attempting to connect to that SSID will be asked for a Wi-Fi
password. The SSID and password are provided on a sticker that comes with each
WLAN expansion card. You should apply this sticker to the underside of the base unit or
to the face of the WLAN expansion card.
