The leg- and

chest-straps to-

gether form a so-

called “Get-Up- Sy-

stem”. This prevents

the pilot from falling out of the

harness if he/she forgets

to close one of the leg straps. The

rescue, placed under the seat board (the handle is located on the right side) offers the ad-
vantage of providing clear sightlines forward and downward, and offers additional protection
in the case of a hard landing.
