TRANSPORTATION AND MOUNTING
Mounting to a Wooden Surface
Use the four smaller holes to mount the saw
to any wooden surface (Fig. 17). Use
fl
athead
wood screws #8 at least 1 ½" length. Drive
the screws through the four holes into the
wooden surface until the screw heads fully
engage the mounting holes and completely
secure the saw.
The supporting surface to which the
saw is mounted should be examined
carefully after mounting to ensure that no
movement of the saw can occur during
use. If any tipping or walking is noted,
secure the workbench or stand before
operating the compound miter saw.
Temporary Mounting, Using Clamps
•
If necessary, clamp the miter saw to a
workbench or table top.
•
Place two (2) or more “C” clamps
2 on the
clamping areas and secure (Fig. 18).
NOTICE: Always make sure you leave
enough room in work area to accommodate
long workpieces.
1. Each of the four (4) mounting holes should
be bolted securely with 5/16" bolts, lock
washers, flat washers, and hex nuts (not
included).
2. Locate and mark the bolt holes where the
saw is to be mounted.
3. Drill four (4) 7/16" diameter holes through
the workbench.
4. Place the miter saw on the workbench,
aligning the holes in base with the holes
drilled in the workbench. Install four each:
screws, lock washers, flat washers, and
