5.4. Checking fan rotation direction
Warning:
- Disconnect the power supply before carrying out work on the unit.
- With disassembled filters: only remove the filters to check the rotation direction.
Danger of injury from turning fan blades.
Note:
- The correct direction of rotation is important. If the direction of rotation of the fan is
incorrect, it will only supply 40% of its air volume.
The direction of rotation of the fan blades in the fan housing must be checked. This is shown by
an arrow on the side of the fan housing. The direction of rotation can be seen by looking
through the grate when the fan blades are turning. If filters are fitted, removed one of the filters
to see the fan blades. See figure 5.
- If a filter is fitted: remove the filter holder, the filter mat and the grate on one side.
- Switch the VolumION on and immediately off again.
- Check the direction of rotation of the fan blades. The direction of rotation must correspond to
the direction shown by the arrow.
- If the direction of rotation is opposite to the arrow direction: reverse two phases (L1 en L3) in
the mains connection (figure 4) or in the motor terminal box (figure 3).
- Replace the grate, the filter mat and the filter holder on the filter housing (figure 5) if they
have been removed.
