1: Introduction
Serverboard Features
At the heart of the SGI Rackable C2112-4RP9 server are dual-processor serverboards based on
the Intel
®
C602 chipset and designed to provide maximum performance. Four of these
serverboards can be mounted in the server chassis. Table 1-2 describes the major features of the
serverboards.

Processors Each serverboard supports single or dual Intel Xeon
®
E5-2600 or E5-2600v2
Series processors.
Memory Each serverboard has eight (8) DIMM slots supporting up to 256 GB of
DDR3-1600/1333/1066/800 MHz speed registered ECC SDRAM in up to
512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB sizes at 1.35V or 1.5V
voltages.
SATA subsystem A SATA controller is integrated into the C602 chipset to provide up to a
three-port 6 Gb/s SATA subsystem—two SATA 3 (6 Gb/s) and two SATA
2 (3 Gb/s). The SATA subsystem supports either RAID 0 and 1 (SATA 2) or
RAID 0, 1, and 5 (SATA 3). The SATA drives are hot-swappable units.
Note : The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the
hot-swap capability and RAID function of the SATA drives.
PCI expansion
slots For each node, the server has one PCIe

3.0 x16 slot (Slot 1) available for
use with a riser card.

– One fast UART 16550 serial port
– One 9-pin RS-232 port
– One Mellonox

Connect-X3 InfiniBand

supporting a single QSFP
connector One COM port
– One VGA (monitor) port
– Two USB 2.0 ports (Additional internal USB headers are included on the
serverboard.)
– One IPMI-dedicated LAN port
– Two Ethernet ports
Graphics
Controller Each serverboard features an integrated Matrox
®
G200eW video controller.
