Maintenance and cleaning
The monofunction simulator type EC mAV 2 is maintenance-free and cannot be repaired by
the user. In case of a defect, the device must be replaced or returned to the manufacturer for
repair.
The only thing that needs to be regularly replaced is the batteries.
CAUTION! Material damage!
When opening the device, critical parts or components can be damaged.
Never open the device and perform any repair yourself.
IMPORTANT! Remove the batteries!
If the device will not be used for longer periods, the batteries should be removed from
the device to preclude any leaking damage.
7.1
Cleaning
Clean the EC mAV 2 with a dry or slightly damp lint-free cloth. Do not use sharp objects or
aggressive agents for cleaning.
IMPORTANT! Clean the terminals!
Dirt or moisture in the terminals can affect readings:
Turn the device off and remove all test leads.
Shake out carefully any dirt that may be in the terminals.
Soak a new swab with alcohol and clean each terminal with the swab.
7.2
Replace the fuse
CAUTION! Risk of injury and material damage!
To avoid personnel injury or damage to the meter, use only the specified fuse (63 mA,
250 V fast-melt).
Comply with the following instructions when replacing the fuse (see figure 7-1):
Turn off the device.
Remove all test leads from the ter-
minals.
Take off the protector of the device.
Remove the four screws.
Take off the cover.
Replace the blown fuse(s).
Reinstall the cover and the protector.
