4.3 Charging process

The device locks the plug into the socket.

After successfully locking the connector, the charging process starts automatically, and the
LED status display pulsates blue. The vehicle is now being charged. The connectors are still
protected against unauthorized removal.
10.The HMI informs you about the current charging status.
11.The vehicle is fully charged as soon as the LED status display changes from flashing to
permanently lit.
The status LED pulsating in blue indicates that current is flowing to the vehicle and the
vehicle battery is charging. The status LED lights up permanently in blue in the following
cases:
•
The vehicle is not drawing current.
–
The charging station pauses, for example, because of load management
–
The vehicle pauses the charging
•
The charging of the vehicle battery is completed.

A third-party app is not included in the charging station's scope of certification and is not
covered by the prototype test certificate. The operator has to ensure that operation is
compliant with calibration laws.
Start charging with Giro-e function
Requirement:
The Giro-e function is enabled on the device. (Configuration via web interface or backend)
Additional information about Giro-e is available here (Page 30).
Proceed as follows to start charging:
1.
Check if the required charging point is ready for operation: The status LED must light up
green.
2.
Use the left or right pushbutton to select the desired charging point.
3.
Place your debit card in front of the card reader until it has been verified. This may take a
few seconds.
4.
The current price and the SEPA ID (pUID) are now visible in the display. For example, DEBIT
AA11112GfG
Write down the SEPA ID (pUID) to check the posting to your account. Additional information
about the SEPA ID (pUID) and Giro-e is available here (Page 30).
