Commissioning
Do not commission without a check by specialist personnel!
Before the initial commissioning of the system in which you are using a safety controller
UE 440/470, it must be checked and released by specialist personnel. Observe the notes
from Chapter 2 "On safety" from Page 9 here.
Check the hazardous area!
You must ensure that no one is located in the hazardous area before commissioning.
Check the hazardous area and secure it against being entered by people (e.g. set up
warning signs, attach blocking ropes or similar). Observe the relevant laws and local
regulations.
8.1
Sequence for commissioning
When commissioning the entire system, you must prevent faults in the sub-systems by
following a specialised sequence for commissioning.
First commission the devices at the EFI connections and test their system behaviour.
Please read the corresponding operating instructions of the ESPE for this.
You will find the "Commissioning" chapter for this in the operating instructions of the
ESPE from SICK AG.
Check all other actuators and sensors connected to the safety controller for proper
functioning.
Do not commission the UE 440/470 until the behaviour of the sub-systems is safe and
as predicted.
