Maintenance and repairs
8.1
Maintenance tasks
The RFU6xx RFID interrogators do not contain any components that require maintenance.
If they are contaminated (e.g., metal dust), clean the antenna cover (plastic) carefully
using a soft, damp cloth (with a mild cleaning agent) in order to achieve the full read
and write speed.
The checks below must be carried out on the RFID interrogators in the event of damage/
a collision or following modifications:

Replacing components

Risk of injury due to electrical current
Only a qualified electrician or trained person working under the guidance and supervision
of a qualified electrician is permitted to work on electrical systems or equipment and they
must comply with the electrical regulations.

Disconnect the power to the system
Make sure the power supply for the entire system is disconnected throughout the entire
time that you are replacing devices.
8.2.1
Replacing the RFU62x configuration device
1. Loosen the M12 plug connectors and remove the connecting cables.
2. Replace the RFID interrogator.
3. Plug the connecting cables back into the connections and screw together the M12 plug
connectors.
4. Use SOPAS to assign the IP address of the previous device to the new device (also see
chapter
6.3 Altering the IP addresses of the RFID interrogators
No further adjustments are required in
ECS
. The replacement device is addressed via the
IP address stored in the access point.
