Detection of one and the same object can be
in dicated in various ways and depends on the
orientation of the object and the direction from which
the search head is approaching it, availability of ground
discontinuities and availability of vertical component
of search head movement above the object, in this case
summation of the signal reflected from the grount and
from the object takes place.
The device allows to identify the orientation of not
large flat objects from nonferrous metals and alloys.
For example, in case a coin is oriented horizontally
(fig.37), one audio signal is heard while moving the
search head from any direction. In case the coin is
oriented vertically, two audio signals are heard while
the search head moving perpendicular to the coin’s
surface (fig.38), and one audio signal - while the search
head moving along the coin’s arris (fig.39).
If the coin is oriented at an angle to the ground
surface when the search head is moving along the arris,
one audio signal is heard (fig.40), while leftward-
rightward moving (if the coin inclined to the right) - also
one signal is heard (fig.41), and while moving
rightward-leftward - two audio signals (fig.42).
The device allows to identify the orientation of not
large stretched objects from ferrous metals, located
parallel to the ground surface (fig.43). In case of the
search head moving only along such object, two audio
signals are heard, and LCD indicates an image like the
one at fig.44.
Detection of ground discontinuity is performed in
the same way as in the standard mode (fig. 45).
At gradual changing of the ground parameters
automatic adjustment of ground compensation takes
place.
