To cancel Manual Focus mode
Set the FOCUS switch to AUTO.

Rotate the Manual Focus ring to focus
on the subject.
• When the
indicator is displayed, the
focus will be at infinity. You cannot focus
any closer when the
indicator is
displayed.
Push and hold the FOCUS switch to PUSH
AUTO.
• Auto Focus works while the switch is held to
PUSH AUTO.
To temporarily use Auto Focus
You can use this feature to shift away from a
subject you have focused on manually to
another subject, and it will automatically stay in
focus to give you a smooth image.
Release the FOCUS switch to return to Manual
Focus mode.
Notes:
• The camcorder may not be able to focus correct-
ly if the subject is within approximately 1.5 m.
Set the zoom control to wide angle, and then try
refocusing.
• If the lens is dirty or fogged, the camcorder may
not be able to correctly focus.

Setting the Camcorder to Full
Auto Mode
Available modes:
TAPE-CAMERA, DUAL-
CAMERA, CARD-CAMERA
To easily record good-quality images, perform
camera shooting in Full Auto mode. If “AUTO”
is not displayed on the screen, the camcorder
is in Manual mode. Perform the procedure
below to cancel all the manual settings and set
the camcorder to Full Auto mode.

Set the camcorder to TAPE-CAMERA,
DUAL-CAMERA, or CARD-CAMERA
mode.

In Recording Standby mode, if the
Manual Selection switch is set to
MANUAL LOCK or MANUAL, set the
switch to AUTO.
• All the manual settings selected on the
MANUAL screen are cancelled.

If the FOCUS switch is set to MANU, set
the switch to AUTO.
• Manual Focus mode is cancelled.
• “AUTO” is displayed.
