Digital and analog connections
This unit can be connected to your equipment by making a digital or analog connection.

When recording the playback signals from other equipment using this unit
Digital connection
Digital equipment with an optical output jack
or a coaxial output jack
Stereo system, CD player, MD player, MD recorder,
DAT, DSS tuner, etc.
Can be recorded with high fidelity, without
converting the original digital signals.
Analog connection
Equipment with line output jacks or a head-
phone jack
CD player, headphone stereo, radio cassette player,
stereo system, video, etc.
Digital signals, such as those from a CD
player, can be recorded as analog signals.

When listening to a recording on this unit or recording its output on other equipment

Can be played back or recorded from with

Depending on the digital equipment, the sampling frequency may be different (DAT etc.) from this unit’s sampling
frequency. This unit supports these digital devices using an automatic switching function (Sampling rate converter: 32
kHz, 48 kHz
→
44.1 kHz automatically switched).

The type of cables required to make connections depends on the type of signal (digital/analog) and input/output jacks on
the equipment being connected to this unit.
Check the shape of the jacks carefully before making connections.
