4.3.2

Using belt pulleys

The following conditions must be met when using belt pulleys:

•

Use only belts that do not build up an electrostatic charge.

•

Do not exceed the maximum permitted overhung load.

4.3.3

Cover for motors in vertical mounting position

Motors  in  vertical  mounting  position  with  the  motor  output  shaft  pointing  upwards  or
downwards (e.g. M4/V1 or M2/V3 mounting positions) must be equipped with a cover
to prevent objects from falling into the drive. The cover must meet the following condi-
tions:

•

Requirements according to EN 60079-0 and/or EN 60079-7

•

The cover must not obstruct the supply of cooling air.

4.3.4

Mounting the motor with aluminum feet

To  mount  motors  with  a  foot  made  of  aluminum,  you  have  to  use  washers  with  an
outer diameter that is at least twice the screw diameter (e.g. DIN EN ISO 7090).

Use bolts of strength class 8.8 up to max. 10.9.

Tightening torque according to VDI 2230-1.

4.3.5

Installation in damp locations or outdoors

•

Use suitable cable glands for the incoming cable (use reducing adapters if neces-
sary) according to the installation instructions.

•

If possible, arrange the terminal box in such a way that the cable entries are point-
ing downwards.

•

Seal the cable entry properly.

•

Clean the sealing surfaces of the terminal box and the terminal box cover carefully
before re-assembly; replace embrittled gaskets.

•

If required, touch up the corrosion protection (especially at the eyebolts).

•

Check the degree of protection.

•

Protect the shaft against corrosion using a suitable anti-corrosion agent.
