WARNING
Do not use the disposable blade more than once!
Scanning electron microscopic pictures show that, already through one-time use,
microscopic, barely recognizable, strongly adhering collagen fibres collect on the
cutting edge of a Pendular blade. Re-use of the blade would lead to worsening of
the cross section and of the cutting surface, as well as to significant reduction of
cutting thickness. Based on these facts, preparation methods for re-use are
unthinkable. Furthermore, the manufacturer has validated a one-time gamma ray
sterilization. Other processes or multiple repetitions are not validated and it is
unknown to what extent the dimensional stability of the blade and its holder are
therewith influenced and what cutting complications and parameter deviations
could be caused.
(Information required by Medical Device Directive 93/42 Annex I, Section 13.6 (h))
Do not use blades when the sterile packing is damaged or already open.
Used blades should be put back into the box to prevent any injuries.
Do not use disposable blades from other suppliers. Only disposable blades
supplied by SCHWIND can be used with the device.
The use of other disposable blades can result in malfunctions.
Use of disposable blades which are not original SCHWIND disposable blades may
result in major / severe surgical consequences or may damage the Carriazo-
Pendular head.
IMPORTANT NOTE
SCHWIND cannot be held liable for damages resulting from the use of disposable
blades more than once and/ or the use of blades from other manufacturing
sources.
Follow the instructions on the blade package.
