Cleaning
Please remove all the stickers and labels. Then rinse the grill plate thoroughly with stand-
ard washing up liquid, with either a soft cloth, a sponge or a soft brush and dry well.
Curing
The enamelled grill plate has no non-stick effect. In a special process, the so-called curing
process, you can produce a natural non-stick layer on the surface of your grill plate which
will reduce the sticking of dishes. It is possible to dispense with the production of a pati-
na. However, in this case, you should count on the food sticking to an increased degree.
The basic patina can be produced in 2 different ways:
Version 1:
Thoroughly clean the grill plate - see above. Then apply vegetable fat (e. g.
sunflower oil) on the inside surface with a pastry brush, until it is slightly wet. Now place
the grill plate in the oven, which has been preheated to approx. 200° C, for 15 to 20
minutes. This process should ideally be repeated 6 times; this can also take place on
several days.
Version 2:
Apply approx. 3 - 5 mm cooking oil (e. g. sunflower oil) on the cold grill plate.
Also wet the side walls with oil. Heat the grill plate until the oil starts to smoke. Then turn
off the hob and leave the grill plate to cool down. Remove the cold oil and rub the grill
plate down with a kitchen towel (lint-free).
