• Make sure that the base o f the cookware is
always clean and dry, in order to f ully utilise and
extend the li f e o f both the cooking zones and the
cookware .
• Avoid using the same cookware which has been
used on gas burners : the heat concentration on
gas burners may distort the base o f the pan,
causing it not to adhere correctly .

Each cooking zone is e q uipped with a pan sensor
device . T he hotplate only emits heat when a pan
with suitable measurements f or the cooking zone is
placed on it . I f the indicator light is f lashing, it may
indicate :
• An incompatible pan
• A pan whose diameter is too small
• T he pan has been removed f rom the hotplate .

Each cooking zone is e q uipped with a residual heat
indicator . T his indicator signals which cooking zones
are still at a high temperature . I f the power display
shows , the cooking zone is still hot . It is
possible, f or example, to keep a dish warm or melt
butter or chocolate . As the cooking zone cools, the
power display will show . T he display switches o ff
when the cooking zone has cooled su ff iciently .

I f the electronic elements overheat, the hob switches
o ff automatically and

appears on the display,
f ollowed by a f lashing number . When the
temperature has reached a suitable level, this
message disappears and the hob may be used
again .

T he appliance has a sa f ety switch which
automatically switches the cooking zones o ff a f ter
they have been in operation f or a certain amount o f
time at a particular power level . When the sa f ety
switch has been triggered, the display shows “ 0 ” .
For example : the right rear hotplate is set to 5 and
will switch o ff a f ter 5 hours o f continuous operation,
while the f ront le f t hotplate is set to 2 and will switch
o ff a f ter 8 hours .

T his can also indicate several irregularities :
• An object ( a pan, cutlery, etc .) has been placed
on the control panel f or more than 10 seconds .
• Something has been spilt on the control panel .
• A button has been pressed f or too long . All o f the
above situations may cause the buzzer to sound .
R emove the cause o f the mal f unction to stop the
buzzer . I f the cause o f the problem is not
removed, the buzzer will keep sounding and the
hob will switch o ff.
