Example 1:

Power line rating: 400 V, 50 Hz
Drive rating: 380–500 V, 50–60 Hz, 355 kW, 727 A, B6-diode rectifier without DC-link choke
Required THDi @ rated power: 5%
Planned rectifier/drive input real power: 355kW (100% of drive rating)

Recommended filter: Type FN 3470-355-99

Example 2:

Power line rating: 400 V, 50 Hz
Drive rating: 380–500 V, 50–60 Hz, 355 kW, 559 A, B6-diode rectifier with an 4% DC-link choke
Planned rectifier/drive input real power: 355 kW (100% of drive rating)
Required THDi @ rated power: 5%

Recommended filter: Type FN 3471-355-99

Example 3:

Power line rating: 480 V, 50 Hz
Drive rating: 440–480 V, 50–60 Hz, 400 kW, 700 A, B6-diode rectifier without DC-link choke
Planned rectifier/drive input real power: 400kW (100% of drive rating)
Required THDi @ rated power: 10%

Recommended filter: Type FN 3481-400-99

Example 4:

Power line rating: 480 V, 60 Hz
Drive rating: 380–500 V, 50–60 Hz, 400 HP, 537 A, diode rectifier
Planned rectifier/drive input real power: 400 HP (100% of drive rating)
Required THDi @ rated power: 10%

Recommended filter: Type FN 3483-400-99

Oversizing of passive harmonic filters is not recommended because of the inherent lower harmonic mitigation per-
formance at partial load as well as higher cost, size, and weight.
Please refer to sections 2.1 to 2.4 for proper filter selection.
