9 TROUBLESHOOTING
Description of the fault/mal-
function
Possible causes of the
fault/malfunction
Possible remedial measures
To be carried out by
Reduced load capacity of the
lifting magnet
The air gap is larger than
permitted.
Remove materials causing the air gap.
Operator
Thin-walled material.
Lift loads with appropriate thickness.
Operator
Lift loads with appropriate
thickness.
Mill across the functional surfaces.
Maintenance engineer,
specialist mechanic
Chemical composition of
the load material
Correct as per the table in section
7.1.3.
Operator
The acoustic warning signal
does not work.
Mechanical damage
Avoid rough actions. Replace the acous-
tic warning signal.
Maintenance engineer,
mechanic
Disconnected contacts
Check the connecting contacts.
Maintenance engineer,
mechanic
Label not legible
Surfaces damaged by
abrasion
Replace the damaged labels.
Maintenance engineer,
mechanic
Reduced range of the remote
control
Weak battery in the
remote control
Replace the 9 V battery in the remote
control, with a voltage level above
7.3 V.
Maintenance engineer,
mechatronic
Two red lines flashing on the
remote control
Malfunction on the safety
switch
Mechanical damage
Avoid rough actions, contact customer
service of SAV GmbH.
Maintenance engineer,
specialist mechanic
Battery charging – the
charging indicator light is not
flashing.
No connection to the
mains power supply.
Check whether there is voltage on the
socket used.

mechanic
Damage
Check and contact customer service of
SAV GmbH.
Maintenance engineer,
specialist mechanic
Battery charging – the battery
is not charging.
Damaged battery
Check condition of the battery, measure
the battery condition. Replace the
battery if necessary.
Maintenance engineer,
mechatronic
Rapid capacity loss of the fully
charged battery
Battery at the end of the
life cycle
Replace the battery. Note: During the
battery life cycle, the maximum load
capacity naturally decreases. It is
possible that the state of charge of the
battery quickly reduces to 9 or even
8 LEDs. The further process should be
normal, though.
Maintenance engineer,
mechatronic
The lifting magnet cannot be
started up – an acoustic and
light warning is output.
Damaged coil winding
Contact customer service of SAV
GmbH.
Maintenance engineer,
specialised mechatronic
Insufficiently charged
battery
The battery has to have a voltage level
of 12.3 V. Check the status, charge or
replace.
Invalid check
A check that is older than
1 year.
Carry out a new check or take the
lifting magnet out of service.
