Damage!
The influence or destructive effect of demagnetisers on electronic medical
devices, computers, watches, credit cards, chip cards and data carriers must
be taken into account.
■
Keep electronic medical devices, computers, watches, credit cards, chip
cards and data carriers away from the exposure zone of the magnetic
field. Keep a distance of at least 3 m.
The switched on position of the demagnetiser is indicated with a signal lamp.
2.1 Intended use
The intended use of the demagnetiser is the elimination of residual magnetism in steel parts.
The hand-held demagnetiser SAV 890.70 may be used only for demagnetising workpieces in continuous and
intermittent operation. The device generates a constant magnetic alternating field (50 Hz). The duty cycle is 30 %.
The device must be protected against water ingress as per its IP 42 protection rating.
The hand-held demagnetiser SAV 890.71 may be used only for demagnetising smaller workpieces or tools
such as milling cutters or dies. The maximum duty cycle of 10 % must be observed for a max. operating period of
10 s.
General information
A workpiece must not remain on/in the switched-on device. If a product remains in the demagnetising zone during
switching off, the product can be magnetised. Remove the product and move it to outside of a 30 cm radius from
the device before switching off the device.
To meet the EMC requirements, the device must be at a distance of at least 2 m from signal or power cables,
electric devices and electronic devices.
Observe the applicable accident prevention regulations when operating the demagnetiser. Repairs may only be
carried out by the manufacturer.
The technical specifications and ambient conditions must always be observed
(see section 3 “Technical specifications”).
Operating conditions
Use must be restricted to the conditions listed below. In other cases, consult the manufacturer.

The device may be used only in enclosed rooms and not in a damp or wet environment.
2.2 Personnel qualification
The minimum age for personnel is 18 years.
The personnel have to know and understand the interactions with any other machine/system parts.
The personnel have to be familiar with the regulations on health and safety and accident prevention.
