Endnotes
1. IP68:
The IP standard we test to is BS EN 60529:1992 +A2:2013 and IEC 60945.
This standard, titled Degrees of Protection provided by IP Code, contains the
criteria to assess equipment to its appropriate IP code.
•
Certified to withstand 1.5 meter underwater for 1hour 30 minutes.
•
No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact.
Warning:
Please note, this rating is only valid, if the sleeve is correctly connecting on to
the SATcase.
2. MIL-810:
(or MIL STD-810) is a US Military Standard which focuses on a product or piece of
equipment’s ability to withstand environmental stresses and function as intended
throughout its service life, including during transit or storage.
The SATcase can withstand stock from dropping up to a height of 1.5 meters.
That's basically a chest-high tumble, so you can rest assured that your
SATcase will survive falls covering the distance from your hands to the
ground in most circumstances.
MIL STD-810 covers the requirements for both climatic testing and
mechanical testing, as listed below:
•
500 - Low Pressure (Altitude)
•
501 - High Temperature
•
502 - Low Temperature
