3.11.4 QUANTUM electronic fuel system

When the 'Stop' indicator on the dash panel
illuminates, the computer has detected a
major malfunction in the engine that requires
immediate attention. It is the operators
responsibility to shut down the engine to avoid
serious damage.
The machine is equipped with an engine
protection derate system, which records fault
codes when an out-of-range conditions is
found. The Maintenance indicator illuminates
when the engine protection derate system
is initiated. The engine power and speed
will be gradually reduced depending on the
level of severity of the out-of-range condition.
The Maintenance indicator will start to flash
if the out-of-range condition continues to get
worse. The operator MUST shut down the
engine to avoid serious damage,The engine
should not be restarted after it has been shut
down after activation of the engine protection
derate system unless the problem has been
diagnosed and corrected.

Maintenance indicator to come on are
:
Low
coolant level, High coolant temperature, Idle
validation/throttle pedal switch mismatch, High
intake manifold temperature, Low oil pressure
and High fuel rail pressure.
Whenever the 'Stop', 'Warning' or Maintenance
indicator comes on, the Electronic Fuel
System computer will determine where the
problem is and will store this information in
its memory. If the malfunction is intermittent,
the indicators will come on and go off as
the computer senses the changing engine
condition.
A special diagnostic data reader (INSITE) is
available that can be plugged into the engine
computer memory to extract information
related to the cause of the problem. Once
