9 Malfunctions
The work described in this section is only to
be performed by personnel appropriately
qualified to carry out such tasks.
Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock
(230 V version).

Before connecting wiring, performing
any work on the device or opening the
device, disconnect the supply voltage
and protect it against unintentional re-
connection.
Î
Only use power interruption devices that
are protected against unintentional re-
connection of the power supply.
Risk of fatal injury due to the ignition of an
explosive atmosphere.

For mounting and electrical installation in
hazardous areas, observe the explosion
protection approvals as well as the rele-
vant electrotechnical regulations and the
accident prevention regulations that ap-
ply in the country of use. EN 60079-14
applies in Europe.

Installation, operation or maintenance of
the differential pressure meter must only
performed by personnel with qualifica -
tions according to Clause 4.5 of
IEC 60079-14 who has undergone spe
-
cial training or instructions or who is au-
thorized to work on explosion-protected
devices in hazardous areas.
Risk of fatal injury as a result of electro-
static discharge at the housing.

Ensure that the device, cables and other
plant components cannot rub against
each other.
Î
Do not rub dry the housing surface of the
differential pressure meter.
Î
Only use a damp cloth or wipes (e.g.
with diluted mild soap or detergent) to
clean the housing surface.
Risk of bursting in pressure equipment.
Î
Before starting any work on the differen -
tial pressure meter, depressurize all plant
sections affected as well as the dp cell.
Î
Drain the process medium from all the
plant sections affected as well as the dp
cell.
Î
Wear protective clothing as specified in
the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for
the process medium.
Risk of injury due to incorrect handling of
oxygen.
Î
Work on differential pressure meters
intended for the measurement of gaseous
oxygen must only be performed by
operating personnel who has undergone
training for work involving oxygen
service.

When replacing parts that come into
contact with gaseous oxygen, wear suit -
