Hitching the ALPINA mower to the tractor
CAUTION!
For a front TPH lift with power lowering (in which configuration the front lift
cylinders are pressurized during the lowering motion), there is a hazard of
damage to the hitched machine while lowering it. An excessive pressure of the
mower against the ground may cause failure of the mower hitch attachment,
failure of the whole mower, and excessive tension and/or failure of the load
floating springs.
With the mower hitched to a tractor, check the centreline balance and steerability of the tractor
and mower unit. Do this my calculating the correct values with the formulas in attachment to the User
Manual, or weigh the tractor and mower unit. Follow by driving the tractor’s front axle only on the weight
(with the mower lifted in its transport configuration). If the rear axle load of the tractor is 20 % of the
whole ground load from the tractor and mower unit or higher, the unit will have acceptable steerability.
Otherwise the tractor’s rear axle must be balanced with a sufficient ballast.
5.1.2.
Hitching and coupling the SAMBA F mower to the tractor
NOTE:
The manufacturer will not be liable for any damage of the mower caused by
incorrect installation on the front TPH and the hitching frame.
Detachment of the mower from the front TPH and the hitching frame may result in the
following damage:
-
Bending of the mower guards if the tractor runs into them;
-
Failure of the PIC;
-
Failure of the intersecting axis gear, etc.
Periodically verify the security of hitching while operating the mower.
The mower is attached directly to the hitching frame which in turn is attached to the front TPH of
the tractor (the standard equipment of the mower includes a Cat. II hitching frame).
