Descaling
Over a period of time, minerals and calcium found in water will accumulate
in your Coffee Maker and may affect its operation. The appliance should
be cleaned approximately every six months, depending on water
conditions. Use distilled vinegar in the following manner to remove
the mineral deposits.
1. Fill the Water Tank to the MAX level with equal parts of white vinegar
and cold water. Close the Lid.
2. The Grinder Trap Door Tab should be in the Lock position. If not,
remove the Grinder Trap Door Assembly. See the 'Care and Cleaning'
section and press the small square on the left side of the Assembly.
This will close the Grinder Trap Door. Replace the Assembly.
3. Slide the Filter Basket into position.
Do not
use the Permanent Filter.
4. Place the Carafe with Lid on the Bottom Plate.
5. Plug the Coffee Maker into the 120 volt wall outlet.
6. Press the Grinder Off Button to eliminate the grinding bean step.
7. Press the ON/OFF Button once and the Coffee Maker will start.
8. Let the whole quantity of the vinegar/water solution run through
the machine, then turn the Coffee Maker off by pressing the ON/OFF
Button twice.
9. Repeat the above steps using cold water to rinse away any residual
vinegar. Repeat twice.
