7.7 Mounting the Weight Rod
Danger
Danger of toppling over!
Distribute the balance weights alternately and equally on both sides of the
weight rod.
If you use dumb-bell disks as balance weights, the individual disk weight
may not exceed 10 kg / 22 lb.
Please observe the safety instructions in Chapter 4

Slide the weight rod (without O-rings) through
the hole at the end of the weight pipe.

Secure the rod with the black clamp lever on
the weight pipe so that it is centered on the
pipe.

Balance the crane by evenly distributing appropriate, fastenable weights (e.g.
dumb-bell disks) on both sides of the weight rod. Slide the weights as close to the
middle as possible.
Õ
Use the O-rings to secure the weights against slipping.
Õ
Re-insert the safety pins into the left and right side of the weight rod so that the
weights cannot fall off.
The balance weight depends on both the camera’s weight and the crane arm length.
In the table below, you can find cut-off values for the balance weights required:
