CAUTION
Air Cleaner and Air Filter
1. Remove screws from air cleaner cover. ( 1 )
2. Clean housing of dirt and debris with a clean cloth.
3. Inspect gasket for integrity.
4. Inspect air filter and replace if dirty or maintenance interval has been reached.
5. Reinstall air filter and cleaner cover, secure screws.
Gear Oil
Change the gear oil per the maintenance schedule and check level periodically.
1. Remove the fill screw ( 1 ) and drain screw ( 2 ). Drain all oil from gearbox.
2. Reinsert drain screw ( 2 ) with new washer and tighten to torque specification.
3. Fill with SAE 80W-90 GL-5. Use fill cap level indicator to measure oil level.
4. Reinsert fill screw ( 1 ) and tighten to torque specification.
5. Inspect for leaks on the shaft seals inside the transmission and on the output shaft near the
rear wheel. If there is a leak, you will notice a build-up of oil and dirt. Resolve any leak
immediately to prevent damage to the gearbox.
Transmission
1. Check the transmission for belt and roller wear.
2. Rollers should not have major flat spots.
3. Measure belt width to determine wear.
4. Inspect belt for cracks, frays, or other damage.
5. Inspect clutch pads for wear, glazing.
