8.4.3 Loop Diagnostic Display
This screen provides information to aid in commissioning and fault-finding on the current loop.
The
top line
message shows the reason why the loop was re-configured itself. The message will be one of the
following:
Loop: Power on reset - loop configured because the master station powered up
Loop: Fault found - fault detected on the loop whilst it was running without loopbacks present
Loop: Fault A side - fault detected on the A side of the loop whilst it was running with loopbacks on
Loop: Fault B side - fault detected on the B side of the loop whilst it was running with loopbacks on
Loop: Fault Return - fault detected in the return current path whilst the loop was running at double
speed
Loop: Reset command - loop Reconfigure command entered from keypad or serial port
Loop: Doubling fail - fault detected soon after loop assumed double speed. Usually indicates that the
loop will not tolerate double speed running.
The
second line
gives information about the type of loop fault found:
Zero Address - a field unit has been found with an address of zero
Address too High - a field unit has been found with an address higher than that setup within the
master station
Same Address - two field units found with the same address
Loop Open Circuit - an open circuit fault found on the loop
Loop Short Circuit - a short circuit fault found on the loop
In the case of address faults, the master station will continually try to reconfigure the loop until the fault is
cleared.
The
third line
gives additional information about the position of the problem with messages such as:
Position 23 on A - identifies the physical position of field unit with address fault
Loopbacks at 2 3 - identifies addresses of looped back field units
Commands available:
- Go to FCU map page
- Return to previous menu
