Rumble
To activate the rumble feature with the Rift CV1, the USB sound card needs to be connected
into the bottom left-
hand USB port on Side B of the control box. It’s a little fiddly to get the
sound card in, but they do both fit.
You will then need to plug cable H into the front of the Control Box (this small socket is
located just to the left of the large silver dial in the center), and the other end of the audio
cable needs to connect into the headphone socket of the USB sound card.
From there, turn the large dial on the front of Control Box clockwise all the way up to help
with testing (the red light should be on).
Once the above is set up, you then need to set your PC to output the audio to both the USB
Sound Card and to the Oculus headset.
Oculus Quest/Quest 2/Go
Setup
The Oculus Quest, Quest 2 and Oculus Go are free-standing headsets that does not require
any connections to the stem. The only thing required to make the chair work with these
headsets is the headtracker.
Rumble
To connect the rumble, you will need to plug cable G into the front of the control box. Into
the two ports, the audio cable for the headset (cable H), and the audio cable for the
headphones will need to go in there. Once the dial is turned up on the control box, and the
headset volume turned up, the rumble will work.
Note
The Quest 2 link cable currently works on a USB-C connection, something our control box
does not currently support
–
we are working on upgrading this, however in the meantime,
you can still enjoy all the content available directly stored on your headset.
New/Future Generation
When the Roto was first designed 6 years ago, headsets were not built with updated
connections like the display port. If you wish to use headsets like the HTC Vive Pro, Oculus
Rift S or Valve Index, a battery powered laptop will be required atop our desktop
attachment. The headset will need to be running through the laptop, however the chair will
still turn with the headtracker attached.
We are currently working on an upgrade to the cable magazine, which we hope to have
available for purchase soon. Please keep an eye on the website for all the latest information.
