3. Handling
3
Remove any stickers before using for the first time.
3
Wash thoroughly in hot water and detergent before first use.
3
Never pull or slide the cookware item across a hob to prevent
potentially scratching it. Before each use, check the bottom
of the product for rough spots to avoid damaging the hob.
3
The diameter of the hob and the cookware should be as
similar as possible in order to optimise energy efficiency and
prevent the bottom from heating unevenly. When choosing
the right cooktop, the diameter of the pot or pan bottom is
what matters – not the upper diameter of the pot or pan.
3
Never heat cookware while empty. Pour some heat-resistant
oil into the cold cookware item – this serves as a heat
indicator. If the oil in your cookware starts to smoke slightly,
reduce the heat at once. Never leave empty cookware,
especially if it has a non-stick coating, standing on a hot
cooktop that is switched on.
Be especially careful to ensure that the liquids never
completely evaporate from the food. This prevents the food
from getting burnt on and damaging the cookware or the
hob. Damage can occur, for example, if the aluminium in the
bottom melts.
3
To save energy, cook with the lid on whenever possible, and
adjust the heat accordingly.
