Prepare for Using This Printer

Make sure that the drain bottle is installed 
properly.

STEP 7: Filling with Ink for 

the First Time

Firstly, clean the print heads with cleaning 
liquid when installing ink cartridges for the 
first time after shipment from the factory. 
After cleaning, fill the machine with the ink of 
each color.
The on-screen messages indicate which ink 
cartridges to insert and remove and when to 
insert and remove them.
Follow the instructions given in “1. Clean 
the Print Heads Using SOL INK Cleaning 
Cartridges” (P. 29) and “2. Insert the Ink 
Cartridges for the Respective Colors” (P. 30).

Prepare

•  Two SOL INK cleaning cartridges
•  The ink cartridges to be used

NOTE

•  Be sure to use new SOL INK cleaning 

cartridges and ink cartridges.

•  Never, under any circumstances, use 

anything other than the specified type of ink 
or cleaning liquid.
