IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Check that your electricity supply is 220 V – 240 V / 50 Hz.
Do not run another high-powered unit on the same socket.
2. Only used earthed sockets for connecting the plug. The plug on the steam cleaner must not be modified in any way
whatsoever. Never use a plug that is not protected by an earth connection. Never use adaptors, as they are liable to cause
overheating or fire risks. Non-modified plugs can reduce risks of electric shock. (We recommend that the steam generator is
only plugged into a socket protected by a residual current circuit-breaker).
3. Never run the steam generator without any water in it.
Constantly check the water level when the unit is running.
4. Always disconnect the steam generator from the power supply before filling or emptying it. Let the generator cool down
completely and only refill it with water when no more steam is being emitted.
5. Check that the tank cap has been screwed tightly in place before using the unit.
6. Use the handle on the top of the unit for moving it, when not in use. Do not move the unit by pulling it with the steam
hose. When using the unit, move it by means of the extension tubes. It cannot be moved by accident and the wheel can be
checked after emptying any remaining water in the unit.
7. Systematically check that the steam generator is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before cleaning,
moving or servicing it.
8. Only use pure water in the unit without any additive whatsoever, e.g. perfume, cleaning agent or alcohol, as these
products may damage the machine and make it dangerous to use. We also recommend that distilled or de-mineralized
water is used, to increase the steam generator’s service life. Never fill the tank with more than 1.5 litres of water!
9. The power and heat of the steam may damage certain types of material, such as Dralon fibres. Systematically check that
the surface is suitable for treatment by carrying out a test on a hidden area.
10. Never touch any of the hot elements on the steam generator such as metal parts and parts heated by steam when
the unit is running. A rise in temperature is normal when the unit is running. Do not use the steam generator for treating
any clothing that has just been worn. Never aim the steam generator at persons, animals or plants (as they are liable to be
scalded by the steam). Never aim the steam generator at electrical units or wiring.
11. Never tilt the unit over by more than 45° when in use and make certain that the unit is always placed firmly on the
floor. Never unscrew the tank cap when the switch is in the “ON” position and the unit is running, as the tank will be under
pressure.
12. Never put the unit, the supply cord or the plug into water.
Always keep the unit protected from rain and damp. The generator is not suitable for use in the open air.
13. A little water may flow out of the nozzle, simply as a result of condensation. This is perfectly normal. Furthermore,
attachments will heat up when running. Always give them time to cool down before removing or replacing them.
14. Never leave the steam hose on the floor and do not wind it up. Never expose the unit or any of its elements to an open
flame or any cooking appliance or heating unit.
15. To prevent any possible accidents, never leave the steam generator unattended when running. The unit MUST NOT be
used without supervision. We recommend that the safety lock be turned on by pushing the yellow triangular key on the
left-hand side of the steam gun to the right (with the child protection safety device)
16. Take special care when using the unit in the presence of children or disabled persons. Make sure that no packaging
elements (plastic film) fall into the hands of children (risk of suffocation).
17. Always disconnect the unit from the power supply by unplugging it. Never pull on the power cord and do not touch the
plug with wet hands.
18. Regularly check the unit, the cord and the attachments to ensure they have not been damaged. Never use a damaged
unit or damaged attachments. Never use the unit if the power cord has been damaged. Do not replace it yourself, but
contact your maintenance agent.
19. The unit is fitted with a thermostat and the steam generator will cut off automatically when the operating temperature
has been reached. This will prevent overheating, but will maintain the unit at a constant running temperature. The steam
generator is also fitted with an automatic pressure regulator valve, which releases steam automatically if ever there is any
over-pressure in the tank. For reasons of personal safety the DRY STEAM multifunction steam cleaner is also fitted with a
thermal circuit-breaker, which cuts off the power supply when the thermostat and pressure regulation valve are activated.
This disconnects the unit automatically from the mains. If ever this happens, pull out the power plug immediately and
inform our maintenance centre.
20. Only use the steam generator in the ways described in this manual. Any other non-recommended application may lead
to fire or electric shock.
21. This unit is not designed for use by persons with physical, sensory or mental difficulties (or children) or persons lacking
experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or have received instructions on how to use the unit from a person
responsible for their safety.
22. In the event of any problem, consult the ROBUSTA approved after-sales service that is closest to your home. You will
