3. Installing the Printer Driver

Prepare a commercially available USB cable
(less than 3 m (10 feet), compliant with Hi-Speed
USB).
y If you use a USB cable that is 3 m (10 feet)
or longer or a non-standard USB cable, it
may not operate correctly.

If you connect or disconnect the USB cable
when not instructed to do so, the installation
may not be performed correctly and data
may not be able to be transmitted. In this
case, uninstall the printer driver and then in-
stall it again.

Make sure to follow the instructions during
installation. Do not install the printer driver
from [Add Printer]. The installation may not
be performed correctly and data may not be
able to be transmitted.

Log on to Windows with an account (Ad-
ministrator, etc.) that has the authority to
change the system settings.
y This printer driver does not support server
OS or printer sharing.
y
When reinstalling a printer driver of the same
series to Windows, such as when updating
the driver or changing the cable connection
method, it is necessary to delete the driver
package. Uninstall the printer driver before
performing a new installation.
