Sample fl uid danger prevention
When toxic sample fl uid comes into contact with any part of the human body
or when toxic gases generated by the sample fl uid are breathed, there is a
danger of severe injury or death.
When sample fl uid comes into contact with other objects in the vicinity, there
is a risk of fi re, explosion, corrosion, deformation or other effects. Observe the
following points closely to prevent leakage and adherence of sample fl uid.
• In case of accidental contact with any potentially harmful fl uid, immediately
wash the affected part with plenty of water and contact a physician.
•
Do not pass sample fl uids which can cause corrosion of fl uid-contacting
parts (PFA and sapphire) through the system.
•
Observe the following points when setting up or dismantling a measure-
ment system.
- Check for any possible risks or toxicity of the intended sample fl uid.
- Take any required steps to prevent sample fl uid leaks, spray, or ex-
posure of the body to sample fl uid.
- Always use protective measures such as wearing dual gloves when
connecting or disconnecting tubes and connectors. Dispose of gloves
which have come into contact with fl uid in such a way that the gloves
do not come into contact with persons or equipment.
- Do not exert strong force or bending stress on tube joints to prevent
leaks.
- As far as possible, tubes and other piping parts should be built up as
a fi xed installation.
- Do not start to pass sample fl uid through the system before all con-
nections have been checked.
- This unit incorporates a leak sensor or other safety device, but to
verify safety you should always perform a thorough leak check before
starting operation. To ensure that the leak sensor operates properly,
the unit must be placed on a horizontal surface (inclination within 2
degrees; see page 2).
