Message Cause Solution
"The width of the media is not
detected. Reload the media." • The media setting position
is misaligned.
• Media with a width that
cannot be detected has
been set.
• The media sensor is dirty.
Perform the following:
• When setting media, check
how well its edge (home
position side) is aligned
with the position below.
• Roll media: Scale on
the pre-heater
• Leaf media: Scale on
the post-heater
For details about the
scales, see page 50

machine".
• Check that the
recommended media has
been set.
• Clean the media sensor.
For details about cleaning
the media sensor, see
"Cleaning the Media
Sensors", Requests for
Daily Care and
Maintenance. If the
problem cannot be
resolved, contact your
service representative.
"The media is skewed. Reload
the media." • Media is skewed. The
looseness from when
setting the media is uneven
on the left and right sides.
• The edge surface of the roll
media has not been
aligned with the roll core.
• Reset the media so that the
looseness is even on the
left and right sides.
• Reset the media after
aligning the edge of the
roll media with the roll
core.
"Cannot match the media width.
Please check the media size." The media width is not
supported. Use media with a width of 297
mm (approx. 11.7 inches) or
more.
