3.3.3. Fax on Demand *
Notes:
1. If an optional Printer Interface is installed, remove it before doing the fol-
lowing procedure, and put it back afterwards.
2. Do the procedures in the section 3.3.6 after installation.
Installation Procedure
1. Remove the rear cover [A] (4
screws) and the IC card slot
cover [B].
2. Remove the NCU cover (1
screw) and replace it with the
cover for the Fax on Demand fea-
ture [C], then connect the har-
ness [D] to CN73 on the MFDU
as shown.
3. Install the battery on the IC card
and turn on the battery switch.
4. Install the IC card [E] into the
lower slot, and put back the rear
cover [A]. Then connect the mi-
crophone socket [F] to the NCU
cover as shown.
5. Plug in the machine and turn on
the main switch.
Then do the following.
a) Print the system paprameter
list and make sure that "FOD" is listed as an option on the list.
b) Check that the functions related to the Fax on Demand feature can
be accessed. (Please refer to the operator’s manual.)

CAUTION
The IC card contains a lithium battery.
The danger of explosion exists if a battery of this type is incorrectly
replaced. Replace only with the same or an equivalent type
recommended by the manufacturer. Discard used batteries in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
