6.6.1 PAPER FEED
Pick-up roller drive is controlled by the pick-up solenoid, if paper is fed from the
paper tray unit. The on/off of the solenoid is controlled by the general output port or
the external output port. The machine feeds the paper based upon the operation of
the manual sensor and the main motor.
The machine shows the following jam conditions when paper feed troubles occur:
Item Description
Jam0 •
Paper does not enter the unit due to a paper misfeed after a page was
picked up.
•
Paper entered, but did not get to the feed sensor within a certain time
due to slip, etc after a page was picked up.
• A page was picked up, but the feed sensor has not actuated. Jam0
shows if the feed sensor remains off after a certain time, the feed sensor
tries again. This means that the leading edge of the paper doesn't pass
the feed sensor within a certain time.
•
The feed sensor does not actuate even though the paper has reached
the feed sensor. This means that the sensor is faulty.
Jam1 •
The trailing edge of the paper does not pass the feed sensor within a
certain time once the leading edge of the paper has passed the feed
sensor. (During this time the feed sensor cannot be Off)
•
The paper does not reach the exit sensor within a certain time once the
leading edge of the paper has passed the feed sensor. (The exit sensor
cannot be On during this time)
•
There is already paper between the feed sensor and the exit sensor.
Jam2 •
The trailing edge of the paper does not pass the exit sensor within a
certain time once the trailing edge of the paper has passed the feed
sensor.
