Description of the RETROSCAN
scanning system
The RETROSCAN scanning system:

Allows messages to be sent from the computer to the machine tool’s
controller via an RS232C communications cable.
••••
Allows messages to be sent back to the computer, via the SP2-1
scanning probe and probe interface card (CC1 or CC5), to provide
surface detail information.
The RETROSCAN scanning system contains the following primary
components (see Figure 1.1):
