Dual Band ICS Repeater User Manual
DL gain = 77dB (as previously calculated in 4.2.1.1) and Isolation is83dB
In this condition, the DL Gain does not need to be decreased to meet the isolation
requirement:
DL Gain = 77dB
UL Gain = DL Gain
– 5dB = 72dB
4.2.2 Start-up the Repeater
Below outlines the procedures and conditions when switching on the repeater
Make sure repeater’s BTS and MS ports are connected with 50Ω terminators.
Make sure isolation has been met, then the repeater be switched on.
Make sure power supply cable is connected to the repeater properly, and the voltage is
within repeater’s voltage range:
AC 110/220 V
.
Connect the repeater to a laptop via a micro USB
cable if monitoring the repeater’s
parameters is required.
Start the repeater. Once the repeater is on, it requires several seconds for initialization.
Set the repeater’s UL and DL gain to the value calculated before. (Refer to
section 4.2.3
)
Shut down the repeater. Remove the terminators and
then connect the repeater’s BTS and
MS ports to donor and service antennas. Restart the repeater to finish the commissioning.
4.2.3 Gain Setting
Gain of repeater can be set through OMS Lite software via micro USB connection.
4.2.3.1 Via Micro USB cable and OMS Lite Software
To change the gain via the OMS Lite software, connect a laptop to the repeater using a micro
USB cable. Run the OMS Lite software application and go to the
“Gain Information”
section. Set
the uplink attenuation value in UL Att. and downlink attenuation value in DL Att.. Click
“Set”
for
the value to take effect. Refer to the
“OMS Lite User’s Manual”
for detail connection
requirements.
