Dual Band ICS Repeater User Manual
Isolation is an important condition that MUST be met for trouble free operation of the repeater.
To ensure the repeater’s working properly, the following equation MUST be met.
Refer to
Section 3.2.3 Isolation
for further details about isolation and how to measure the value.
4.2 Repeater Configuration
4.2.1 Gain Calculation
Before switching on the repeater, repeater gain needs to be calculated, based on equations
established in the previous sections.
4.2.1.1 DL Gain Value
For the WCDMA system, the downlink gain value calculation is based on the downlink input
power and output power.
The following information should be obtained beforehand:
Donor CPICH Strength at Donor Antenna (without donor antenna gain)
…….. Rxpower
Gain of Donor Antenna
…………………………………………………………………G
Ant
Loss of Coaxial Cable
……………………………………………. L (based on Cable Spec.)
With the information above, DL gain setting can be calculated in the following manner
Input Power = R G
Ant
- L
So,
DL Gain = Min {(DL Total Output Power - Input Power - 10dB), Maximum DL Gain}
In WCDMA system, to preserve some space
for traffic channel, repeater’s output power needs to
be set 10dB lower than its total output power during commissioning.
As for the LTE system, the downlink gain value calculation is based on the downlink input power
and output power
The following information should be obtained beforehand:
Donor CPICH at Donor Antenna (without donor antenna gain)
……………………… RSRP
Gain of Donor Antenna
……………………………………………………………………….G
Ant
Loss of Coaxial Cable
………………………………………………..L (based on Cable Spec.)
With the information above, DL gain setting can be calculated as following
Input Power = RSRP + G
Ant
– L
Isolation ≥ (DL Gain of Re 15dB) – 30dB
